The 2024 NFL season has gone rather quickly. As always, there are the Super Bowl contenders as well as pretenders. But there's also the category of disappointment. Who would've thought that the Detroit Lions would be in a position of SUPER BOWL contenders?! And what about Daniel Jones becoming the HIGHEST-PAID third-string quarterback? And the Cowboys amassing an 0-5 at home this season with four straight blow-out losses at AT&T stadium. The Jets just fired the GM, but didn't they fire Robert Saleh just a few weeks ago?!
So who's the biggest disappointment in the league right now? It can't be Jacksonville or either of the New York teams. Perhaps Cleveland? No, it's gotta be the Dallas Cowboys. Maybe the Raiders? Titans? All these teams are very disappointing, but there's one that stands out the most. And yes, it's the Cowboys.
Why the Cowboys? Simple. A failed off-season. The words of Jerry Jones? "ALL IN" and what did Dallas get out of it? NOTHING. CeeDee Lamb held out and got paid. Dak Prescott got paid AGAIN and where are the Cowboys now? 3-8. Prescott's out till training camp of next year. Lamb's not been productive. The injuries are a huge problem, but the horrible coaching sticks out more. McCarthy is done and the team needs a massive overhaul.
Now, why Dallas over the other teams? Well, for one, the Jaguars, Jets, and Giants had no big expectations coming into this season. The jets are just...the JETS. Same with the Giants. As far as the Jaguars go, well Trevor Lawrence's future is the cause for concern. And Doug Pederson will be fired. The Titans are going through what we expected. As far as Cleveland goes, well DeShaun Watson had fallen out of favor entering this season, and the Browns were still somewhat strong, but the QB was questioned. Now where do we even begin with the Las Vegas Raiders? Defense? Coaching? A similar boat to Dallas?
There you have it. Dallas is the biggest disappointment because they had the most expectations than any of these other teams. But as always, Dallas is overhyped. They have many problems and at this point, they're at least three years from having a chance of being considered a POSSIBLE Super Bowl contender. As long as Jerry Jones is running the show, there's ZERO hope. ZERO.
