The Philadelphia Eagles can feel redemption from 2023. From losing to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII to dominating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. From walking off the field in Glendale, Arizona just losing by three points to celebrating in New Orleans, Louisiana winning by 18 points. Redemption is the word the Philadelphia Eagles as a team, but Validation is the word for QB Jalen Hurts.

In Super Bowl 57, Hurts was the best player on the field. 27 out 38 passing for 304 yards and a touchdown. 15 carries for 70 yards and three touchdowns. Unfortunately, a fumble by Hurts returned for a touchdown by Nick Bolton is a play remembered because the momentum swung in the Chiefs favors. That play happened in the second quarter, but when you lose the biggest game, that play will get attention.

Jalen Hurts after Super Bowl LVII

In a game where Patrick Mahomes won Super Bowl MVP, his second. Jalen Hurts outplayed Mahomes. Mahomes had 182 passing yards and three touchdowns while running for 44 yards on six carries. The difference, Mahomes had zero turnovers and Hurts had that fumble mentioned earlier.

Fast forward two years later, now Jalen Hurts is the celebrating as he was named Super Bowl MVP. Hurts threw for 221 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. He also run 11 times for 72 yards and a touchdown. Mahomes on the other end, threw for 257 yards, three touchdowns, and two interceptions. Mahomes ran four times for 25 yards. Once again, Hurts outplayed Mahomes, but this time around Mahomes made more mistakes than Hurts.

Jalen Hurts Super Bowl MVP

Through all the negative talk for critics in the media and people in general, Jalen Hurts is validated.

"Want to beat the Eagles? Stop Saquon Barkley and make Jalen Hurts throw the football."

"Can Jalen Hurts win you a game by throwing the football?"

"What is going on with the Eagles passing game?"

"Are A.J. Brown and Jalen Hurts at odd?"

All of this was what Jalen Hurts had to deal with leading into Super Bowl LIX. Now Jalen Hurts is Super Bowl MVP. Jalen Hurts is now a Super Bowl Champion. Despite, what you thought going into Sunday's game, Hurts came through for the Eagles on offense. Saquon Barkley had 25 carries for 57 yards and Hurts made the Chiefs defense pay with his arm and legs accounting for three total touchdowns.

Hurts became the fifth quarterback ever with multiple touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown in the Super Bowl. Joining Ken Anderson in Super Bowl XVI, Pro Football Hall of Famers Brett Favre in XXXI and Joe Montana in Super Bowl XIX, and Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl LIV. Hurts is the first quarterback ever with at least 200 passing yards and 50 rushing yards in multiple Super Bowls. He also became the third quarterback with a touchdown pass and a rushing touchdown in multiple Super Bowls, joining Pro Football Hall of Famers John Elway in Super Bowls XXI and XXXIII and Joe Montana in Super Bowls XVI and XIX.
