As the defending five-time SheBelives Cup Champions, the USWNT is determined to win it for the sixth time. With a 2-0 win over Colombia, the USWNT have completed their first objective. It was a respectable performance for the ladies, but they have two more games to play if they're going to hoist the title again. Currently, Japan leads the table thanks to a 4-0 win over Australia.
It's already clear that the USWNT's biggest competition in this tournament is Japan. Frankly, there's zero reason for the USWNT to not win the SheBelieves Cup. They're on a mission; prepare for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. After what happened in 2023, the USWNT is determined to make an impact again in hopes of winning its sixth title.
The USWNT had no issues against Colombia. Colombia didn't present itself as any sort of threat. Lack of competition can be the worst thing for the USWNT. They'll need all the competition possible in preparation for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. They did win Olympic Gold last summer in Paris, which was a huge step forward. But there's more to prove if they're to win the World Cup again. The ultimate test may not happen until the next Women's World Cup takes place.
