Stafford outduels Allen in Rams win

Historic performance! Highest scoring game! Legendary quarterbacks! America's game of the week was everything it needed to be in Los Angeles.

The Buffalo Bills, NFL's hottest teams, riding a seven-game winning streak saw that streak get snapped by the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams beat the Bills 44-42, the highest scoring game of the 2024 NFL season that featured 11 touchdowns.

Josh Allen came into the game as the MVP favorite and proven why with his historic performance. Allen passed for 342 yard and three touchdowns and rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns. He became the first player in NFL history with three passing TDs and three rushing TDs in a single game. Unfortunately, the Bills and Allen was on the losing end. The Bills dropped to 10-3 and suffered their first loss in two months. Their last lost was on Oct. 6 in Houston.

The Rams played their best game of the season on Sunday. By far their highest scoring affair of the season with 44 points. This is only the second time the Rams scored 30+ points in a game this season, last one being 30 points in win over Minnesota on Oct. 24.

Matthew Stafford passed for 320 yards and two touchdowns. Kyren Williams rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns. Puka Nacua had 12 catches for 162 yards and two total touchdowns with one catching and one rushing. Cooper Kupp had five catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. The offense was in rhythm from opening kickoff through to the end. A lot of credit goes to the offensive line of the Rams, as they opened holes for the running games that totaled 137 yards. More importantly, the offensive line allowed zero sacks of Stafford against the 11th ranked defense in the NFL. The Bills were ranked seven in pass defense and Stafford passed for 320 yards, the most the Bills have given up this season.

The turning point of the game was in the second quarter as the Bills was forced to punt and the Rams blocked the punt for a 'Scoop N' Score" touchdown by Hunter Long, giving the Rams a 17-7 lead. After that point the Bills were playing from behind all game.

The Bills got as close as three points, when Josh Allen threw his third touchdown pass to Mack Hollins from 21 yards out for a 38-35 Rams lead with 8:49 left to play. The Rams next possession would put the "dragger" in the Bills hopes. The Rams went on a 11-play drive, covering 71 yards and a touchdown from Stafford to Nacua. Coming out of the Two-Minute Warning timeout, Stafford connected with Nacua on a WR Screen for a 19-yard touchdown, putting the Rams up nine after the missed PAT. The drive included a 4th-and-five conversion from Stafford to Tutu Atwell for 11 yards and the drive took nearly seven minutes off the clock.

Josh Allen would score his third rushing touchdowns and sixth total touchdown of the game with a minute left. Rams recovered the onside kick and ran the clock for a thrilling 44-42 win.

The Rams moved to 7-6, the first time above .500 this season and are in control of their destiny despite the Seahawks being 8-5 after their win in Arizona on Sunday.
