It's a very sad and heartbreaking day in the world of professional wrestling. Scott Hall aka Razor Ramon has sadly passed away. Numerous sources have said that he was recently placed on life support due to complications from hip surgery stemming from a fall at his home. It is said that Hall suffered three heart attacks after his surgery. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer was 63 years old.
Hall made his pro wrestling debut in 1984. He started out wrestling throughout the NWA before wrestling for Verne Gagne's American Wrestling Association from 1985-to 1989. During that time, he would have brief stints with WCW and WWF(now WWE). Throughout 1990 and 1991, he would wrestle in Japan and Puerto Rico.
In 1992, after another brief WCW stint, he would join the WWE on a full-time basis, where he would debut his "Razor Ramon" persona. Hall's Razor Ramon character was heavily influenced by the 1983 movie "Scarface" where he would speak with a heavy Cuban accent and wear gold-chain necklaces. Furthermore, he would go on to be well-known for flicking toothpicks to people! He would go on to win the WWF Intercontinental title four times before departing for WCW in 1996.
Who'll ever forget when he started appearing on WCW programming alongside Kevin Nash. They'd initially be known as "The Outsiders" and intending to launch a "hostile takeover" in WCW. Later that year, at Bash at the Beach, wrestling forever changed when they were joined by Hulk Hogan to officially form the New World Order! Hall would remain in WCW until 2000. In 2002, he returned to the WWE and revive the NWO along with Hogan and Nash. He would square off against Stone Cold Steve Austin at WM 18 in a losing effort. Later that year, he'd be released from the company due to ongoing personal issues. He would then go on to work for Impact Wrestling which was known as Total Nonstop Action during that time.
Hall would not return to the WWE again until 2014 when he would be inducted into the Hall of Fame under the Razor Ramon persona. He would go on to make numerous sporadic appearances. Last year, he was again inducted into the Hall of Fame, this time as a member of the NWO.
Despite all the drama involving his personal issues throughout his life and career, Hall is without a doubt, one of the biggest and most influential names in the pro wrestling business. His love and devotion to the wrestling business will forever be remembered and greatly appreciated. The world of pro wrestling will forever be grateful to fellow pro wrestling legend Diamond Dallas Page and others who helped Hall turn his life around.
Bad times don't last, but bad guys do. Rest in Peace Scott Hall...Rest easy Bad Guy...HEY YO.
