Video Games are merely just a simple way of life. For some, it's merely a hobby, but for many, it's a passion and most importantly, it's a freaking LIVELIHOOD! Gaming is a unique form of art. It's mind-boggling, it's life-changing, and it is absolutely addicting! Believe me, I am speaking from experience because for those of you who know pretty well, y'all know that I absolutely adore video games.
I haven't been a full-time gamer in a very long time. When I was attending the University of North Texas, I couldn't pick up the controller as much as I wanted to. About two or three months ago, I began live stream gaming to build my YouTube channel and to grow my followers for my podcasts. Not quite there yet, but it takes time. I consider myself a part-time gamer but my brutal schedule with podcast work and writing makes it tough to find the time to be able to stream.
I am a huge fan of the GTA series, Uncharted series, as well as the Batman Arkham series, but Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell series has to be my all-time favorite. I adore the Splinter Cell series and would love to be able to play them again either on PS4 or PS5. Last December, Ubisoft announced that the company approved the development of a Splinter Cell remake. More than likely, it's a remake of the first Splinter Cell game that was released in 2002. I am excited and I hope that Ubisoft develops a remake of the rest of the games, as well.
It's hard for me to explain what it was about Splinter Cell that made me love and appreciate the series. The storyline plots, the gameplay, the challenges, the series' overall story, the gadgets, etc are all brilliant. The missions are fun. The challenges are truly a blessing. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell teaches you the art of interrogations and most importantly, the unique art of stealth!
The series' main protagonist is Sam Fisher, a well-decorated U.S. Navy SEAL, and a former CIA paramilitary officer. In the series, Fisher is a member of a top-secret division within the NSA known as the Third Echelon. Fisher's backstory is pretty interesting. Unfortunately, I never played Splinter Cell: Essentials because never came out for Xbox or PlayStation. Splinter Cell: Essentials involves much of Fisher's past. But his back story and present status in the regular series are very intriguing. In Splinter Cell: Double Agent, Fisher's story takes a major dramatic turn. Let me tell you, Splinter Cell: Conviction takes you on such a roller coaster as far as the game's story and Fisher's life and career at that point.
Fisher is voiced by Michael Ironside. I was affected when I found out Ironside wouldn't be reprising the role for Splinter Cell: Blacklist. It made me sad because I learned that Ironside wouldn't reprise the role due to a cancer diagnosis. As sad and disappointed as I was, I fully understood. And honestly, Ironside's replacement did a very good job, although, for me, it was tough to play the game without Ironside voicing Fisher. It's unclear if Ironside will return to the role of Sam Fisher for the remake. Hopefully, he does!
I think now I pretty much answered my own question as to what it was about Splinter Cell that I loved. Aside from the challenges, the stories, and gameplay, it was Sam Fisher that I really adored. I mean, he's a hero! A fearless man who is willing to take on the most dangerous missions! Maybe his courage encouraged me! But no doubt, the series has positively impacted me in such an overwhelming manner. Perhaps Sam Fisher is the patriotic voice in my head encouraging me to keep doing what I do and not be scared.
I mentioned previously that I am fighting the urge of wanting to play the games again. Technically, I could if I acquire an old Xbox and find a copy of a game, but chances are the disc will be badly damaged and the system might not function properly. Unless, of course, I had a proper connection. Overall, it's too much of a hassle.
While I can't play the games myself, for now, it doesn't mean I cannot watch walkthroughs on YouTube. And you know what? I know the best stealth gamer in the history of the world!
So, without any further ado, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, Centerstrain01! The dude is absolutely amazing. As a matter of fact, watching his brilliant gaming content helped me recover from depression. His commentary is brilliant. And the way, he does commentary, he does in a uniquely helpful, and entertaining way. I just cannot tell you just how much Centerstrain01 has positively impacted me. His gaming skills are so amazing. Centerstrain01 really takes it upon himself to teach you the art of stealth. Since he always plays on the hardest difficulty, it's not going to be stealth gaming 101! To me, he's one of those dudes who is very passionate about what he does in life. Based on how he's built his channel and established himself, he's a prime example of how you can succeed in what you love to do in life as long as you set your mind to it and you keep building and working at it.
So what are you waiting for? Subscribe to Centerstrain01's channel! Aside from his Splinter Cell walkthroughs, I recommend you check out his Hitman walkthroughs, as well as Assasin's Creed, Uncharted, Battlefield, and Mass Effect. There's so much content for you to see. And it's all amazing.
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is an art. Personally, I feel that a remake is perhaps a great move for Ubisoft and its fanbase, but nothing will ever be more popular than the originals.
