Matt Eberflus: YOU'RE FIRED!

By Alex Al-Kazzaz

The Chicago Bears have finally done it. They've pulled the plug. Matt Eberflus has been fired. It's finally happened. AND IT'S ABOUT TIME. A six-game losing streak and massive botch on Thanksgiving?! Enough is ENOUGH.

What happened at the end is regrettable for the Bears organization. Chicago showed resiliency and overcame a 23-7 deficit entering the fourth quarter. With 3:31 left in the game, the score was 23-20 and the Bears had a chance of tying or possibly even winning. On a 4th and 14, the Bears were blessed once again after a defensive pass interference provided them with a fresh set of downs at the DET 25-yard line. However, the Bears were pushed back to DET's 41-yard line. On a 3rd and 26 with six seconds left, the Bears had an opportunity to play it safe and attempt a field goal to tie the game and send it to overtime.

Sadly, rather than play it safe, Matt Eberflus took a high-risk gamble and backfired. And the big story of the whole situation? A TIME-OUT BOTCH. Complete mismanagement. Coaching MALPRACTICE! And now, he's out of a job. This is the first time that the Bears have fired a coach mid-season.

Thomas Brown has been named interim Head Coach. A few weeks ago, Brown had been promoted to offensive coordinator. Chicago is 4-8 and winless on the road. The team travels to San Francisco next week. The team remains in a position in the 2025 NFL Draft's first ten picks.

The Chicago Bears organization has a lot of adjustments to make as far as the franchise's future is concerned.
