Last Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys were eaten alive by the Detroit Lions. A 47-9 home loss. The team's worst home loss under the Jerry Jones ownership. To add insult to injury, it occurred on Jerry's birthday. Dallas is 3-3 and it is not looking good. Thankfully, the Cowboys are on their bye week, but that's going to help very little if at all.
Recently, Jones appeared on Dallas Sports Radio 105.3 The Fan. And Jones went on an angry rant when asked questions about why he failed to make moves during the off-season to improve the team. Remember when he declared ALL IN? Yeah, so much for that. During the rant, Jerry even went as far as to threaten to fire the radio hosts! For simply asking questions about how terrible the off-season was for Dallas. Jones not only refused to answer the questions but did not want to take any responsibility. So did Jerry finally prove once and for all that winning is NOT important to him? Many say he's been proving that since he drove Jimmy Johnson out of town nearly 30 years ago.
Here are some of Jerry's words from his rant: "This is not your job. Your job isn't to let me go over all the reasons that I did something and I'm sorry that I did it. That's not your job. I'll get somebody else to ask these questions. I'm not kidding," Jones said. "You're not going to figure it out what the team is doing right or wrong. If you are, or any five or 10 like you, you need to come to this (NFL) meeting I'm going to today with 32 teams here, you're geniuses. "You really think you're gonna sit here with a microphone and tell me all of the things that I've done wrong without going over the rights?"
Believe it or not, he took a moment to apologize to the fans for how bad the team was against Detroit during that same interview. Dallas is 0-3 at home.
Recently, Jerry defended himself as General Manager for the Cowboys. Frankly, he did so in a very egomaniacal and arrogant way. But that's Jerry Jones for you! The man's NOT going to fire himself. Jones' track record as GM is HORRIBLE. But clearly, he doesn't see it that way. He's way over his head and he's proud of himself. Again, there's that ego of his that we all know and see.
There's only one way the GM position for Dallas will become vacant.
