FC Dallas falls to 0-2 at home

By Alex Al-Kazzaz

The woes for FC Dallas continue. After a 1-0 loss at home against Vancouver last Saturday, they fall 1-1-2 and are eleventh in the MLS Western standings. Although they can flourish strongly at certain moments, FC Dallas is unable to finish strong. They're winless at home to start the season and they've been outscored 4-1 in their first two home games.

“We couldn't find good rhythm with the ball, which is what we wanted to do tonight," Head Coach Eric Quill said in the post-game press conference. "We have to dive deep on what happened tonight, diagnose it, and be honest with it. We’ll tweak some things. Anytime you drop two games, especially at home, you have to look at what you're doing."

FC Dallas' attack was MIA. A total of ZERO shots-on-target. The attack was unable to find ways to create chances to score. Vancouver's defense had an answer for everything, and they had their answers very quickly. FC Dallas has failed to register a shot-on-target for the first time since August of 2022 in a 4-0 loss against Nashville.

Defensive efforts were there for FC Dallas. Goalkeeper Maarten Paes made four saves. Vancouver finally breached FC Dallas in the 54th minute, and that settled it. FC Dallas couldn't find an answer. The defense can only do so much and without any support from the attack, the defense can eventually run out of gas.

FC Dallas is back on the road this week to take on Real Salt Lake. Although, the season's just a few weeks in, FC Dallas is on a two-game losing streak and they have to snap out of it. They're a very talented team and they shouldn't be sitting with a negative record. There's zero time to waste. The turnaround must start this week before they return home to take on Sporting KC on the 29th.
