FC Dallas has improved to a winning record for the time being. They're on a two-game winning streak and finally earned their first win of the season. Last Saturday, FC Dallas picked up a 2-1 victory over Sporting KC, and they're now ranked sixth in the MLS Western Standings.
This was a come-from-behind win for FC Dallas as they conceded in the 32nd minute only for Luciano Acosta to equalize five minutes later. Two minutes later, Léo Chú scored his first goal for the club to put FC Dallas ahead. Acosta now has three goals for FC Dallas this season.
"We were a little slow to see the depth of the game; if we caught on sooner, I think we wouldn't have been stuck, " FC Dallas Head Coach Eric Quill said after the game. "They scored a goal early on, but what I liked was our response to change the game with our effort and desire. That’s what got us our first and second goal. There’s some things we still have to work on, but for me, we closed the game out like warriors."
FC Dallas capitalized on their two shots-on-target against Sporting KC. Scoring goals remains the top priority for the club. FC Dallas goalie Maarten Paes made four saves, and the team was able to play well defensively. Paes made his return to the team after a recent call-up to the Indonesian National Team for two World Cup qualifying matches. Paes started in Indonesia's 5-1 loss against Australia but kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Bahrain.
This weekend, FC Dallas is back on the road to take on Atlanta United. Next week, they'll be back at home to take on the Seattle Sounders.
