Cowboys beat Panthers

By Alex Al-Kazzaz

Dallas is 6-8. They've not been officially eliminated from the playoffs, but it could only be a matter of time. They beat the Panthers. Good for them. It's another win, but it's against a very irrelevant team—an inferior opponent. Is that a cause for celebration? Okay, a win's a win; the Cowboys can have that. But that's nothing to brag about.

Last week, more devastating news came out; Trevon Diggs will undergo season-ending knee surgery. He's expected to be out for eight months. The injury appears to be a cartilage issue, which Diggs suffered in Dallas' game against Cincinatti last week. What's most unfortunate is that the injury is on his left knee, the same in which he had suffered a torn ACL in 2023. On a positive note, this particular injury is NOT related to his torn ACL from last year. Diggs joins an elite list of Pro Bowl players on the injured list

The Cowboys will take on Baker Mayfield & the Buccaneers this Sunday in Arlington. With Tampa leading the NFC South and on a four-game winning streak, it looks like the Cowboys will officially be out of playoff contention. The Cowboys have nothing to lose at this point.

All the injuries this season should NOT save Mike McCarthy's job. It's time to move on. There's no reason to keep him. The five-year tenure resulted in repeated disappointment. It's time for a change. The offensive coordinator has to. And quite frankly, so does Mike Zimmer. It's clearly NOT working.
