Counting Down to the Release of The Iron Claw Film: Are You Ready?

By Alex Al-Kazzaz

The Von Erichs are one of the biggest names in professional wrestling. To some, the best dynasty the sport has ever seen. The state of Texas has its history of success when it involves their sports teams, but the Von Erichs is one of the Lone Star state's strongest prides. The family has had its fair share of major success to tragedies. Several years ago, there was an episode about the Von Erichs on the Dark Side of the Ring television series. This December, a film will be coming and as of today, the trailer is out.

Zac Efron playing Kevin Von Erich is special. Efron even put on an impressive physique for the role. The cast is quite interesting. Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Maxwell Jacob Friedman both have roles in the film with Guerrero Jr. portraying The Shiek and MJF portraying Lance Von Erich. Based on the trailer, the actor portraying Fritz Von Erich is just absolutely fantastic. With the likes of Bruiser Brody and "Nature Boy" Ric Flair even being portrayed in the film, the excitement only intensifies. For wrestling fans from back in the 80s, this is definitely going to hit them hard. For fans that are unfamiliar or know very little about the Von Erichs, this will hit them too.

The impact of this film is perhaps primarily for educational purposes and, of course, to honor the legacy of the family. Quite frankly, it's crucial for wrestling fans even in today's generation to know about The Von Erichs. Most fans of pro wrestling gain the curiosity of learning from wrestling from back in the day. It's safe to say that to be a true wrestling fan, the desire to learn and understand the business to a certain extent is a prerequisite.

Wrestling has changed over the decades. From the days of when pro wrestling was territorial to Vince McMahon's globalization of the industry, etc. There are many moments in the sport and many wrestling fans are always eager to learn and understand what it was before their respective times. And learning and understanding about the Von Erichs is a lesson that may be hard to understand due to the family's tragedies. Of all the six Von Erich siblings, only one is left. As mentioned earlier, seeing this film is going to hit hard.

The film comes out December 22nd.
